DESCRIPTION:The Bucks County Show is one of the best one day agricultural shows in the country and one of Buckinghamshire’s main summer attractions. \nOnce again there will be some sixty cattle classes and over thirty sheep classes where some of the best livestock in the country can be seen. \nThere are around eighty equine classes including Showjumping and qualifiers for the Horse of the Year Show and the Royal International Horse Show.

DESCRIPTION:In it’s 18th year this is a very relaxed and informal gathering of classic cars\, sports cars\, bikes\, scooters and anything of interest that people are prepared to bring along from noon onwards on the Sunday of the August bank holiday weekend. This is because the we plan to offer rides down to Addingrove Farm on the Bicester Road (thank you to the Johnson Family) \nThere we will  see and hear all about the excitements of robot milking in that huge shed that many of you have remarked on! \nLots of Chilton folk have expressed an interest in seeing the modern side of farming and if there were others from different parishes who would like to join us\, please let me know – we will need to think about numbers. \nTractors and trailers will be the means of transport and once back there will be a pay bar and BBQ.

SUMMARY:2023 Thame Round Table Duck Race
DESCRIPTION:Quack Quack\, it’s back!\nThe 2023 Thame Round Table Duck Race takes place on Sunday 18th June. The race starts on the old town bridge\, which is accessed from the bottom of Priest End\, behind St Mary’s church. Gates open at 10.30am and the race will start at 11am\, finishing around 12pm. \nAbout Duck Race\nEvery year on the morning after Thame Carnival\, Thame Round Table takes to the river and stages their annual duck race. The event\, which takes place on the river in Thame itself\, has become a family favourite in Thame’s calendar over the years and regularly attracts a good crowd. \nThe race is effectively a giant floating lottery\, which involves dropping more than 1\,000 individually numbered rubber ducks into the River Thame. If you have bought a ticket with a number that matches one of the first three ducks over the line\, you win a prize. All other proceeds from the ticket sales are donated to local causes. \nAdding to the fun is the irrepressible pirate\, Captain Ducky. A children’s favourite and housewives’ choice (albeit quite often his choice\, not theirs). Over the years he has followed the ducks down river in a variety of craft\, but has ended up in the drink often enough to qualify for an RNLI loyalty card. \n  \nPlease note that there is no car parking available at this event. The nearest car parks are in Thame Town Centre. At the event children must be accompanied by an adult at all times.

DESCRIPTION:Organised by WheelPower\, the Bucks Radio Tour de Vale Charity Bike Ride is Buckinghamshire’s largest charity cycling event.\nTurn pedal power into vital funds for local charity WheelPower by taking part in the 2023 Bucks Radio Tour de Vale on Sunday 11 June. \nThe 3 glorious routes (25\,75 and 100km) start and finish at Stoke Mandeville Stadium before heading into the beautiful Buckinghamshire countryside. There’s full support along the route including regular water stops\, marshals\, first aid and support vehicles plus you’ll be rewarded with a well-earned medal at the finish. There will also be massage\, a barbecue and a bar at the finish so that you can recover and relax. Join up with your friends\, family and work colleagues and experience a unique ride\, all whilst helping WheelPower to provide opportunities for disabled people to lead active lives.

SUMMARY:Chiltern Steam Rally
DESCRIPTION:The club holds our rally every year on the 1st full weekend in July. We put on a fun packed weekend\, displaying around 260 exhibits and entertainment for all ages.\nThe rally is spread out over 1 field\, which includes market stalls – craft stands – childrens fun fair – food stands – working demonstrations with timber cutting\, thrashing and stone crushing – traction engines – commercials vehicles – tractors – vintage motorbikes – classic cars – stationary engines – models and miniatures and many more. \nOn both days there is a chance to see impressive steam engines and motor vehicles moving under their own power during the main arena events between 10am and 3pm.
