David Beard

It was with great sadness we learnt of the death of David Beard in the last few days. David was born and bred in Chilton and lived in The Old Forge for many years before moving away in the seventies to Lancashire.

He recently made contact with the village again via Chilton News  and received many comments and contacts, sharing stories and memories of his friends and family in Chilton

David was hugely enthusiastic about this new website and very kindly provided a link to his online library of photographs from Chilton – all he asked was a simple printed credit alongside his photos. We are therefore enormously proud and privileged to be able to share these with you via this site  – simply click here to view his photos

We have also shared these photos with those of Alison Clayton on our GALLERY page, providing a wonderful collection of views past and present in the village David loved

Grass Verges

Following an enquiry to Transport for Buckinghamshire we were advised of the following:

Urban grass cutting is four times over the season, this is around a six week turn round.

The grass verges were cut on Monday 24th April, so we should see them cut again around week commencing 5th June – please keep us informed if the grass is getting too long

Road Repairs

Following contact with our County Councillor, Angela McPherson, during week commencing 17th April, it was good to see a road technician marking up the Chilton Roads on Friday identifying potholes to be filled
