RECENT COMMUNICATION BETWEEN Bucks CC & Chilton PC
Good morning Stuart, and a warm welcome to you I look forward to working with you closely.
You are correct a few weeks ago I raised and marked all defects from Wotton Road junction through to Dorton Village. It is my intention to carry out the rest of this length of road to the junction with Brill Road, Chilton.
This has not yet happen mainly due to bank holidays and meetings, however major defect numbers are still having an effect on our resource and therefore have to manage expectations within the area.
I will be out over the next few days and you will notice these areas marked up these will be done under a road closure to ensure safety for our work force, diversion route will be via Brill and vice versa. The repairs will be raised under a five day order to provide programming of the works.
I appreciate this may cause some issues with residents getting into their properties but once completed should improve the road surface for them.
With regards to the areas along Thame Road, as you state the inspector has been out and raised repairs for major defects, The trench which I have received several complaints about is currently a minor defect and therefore was not raised due to high demand for repairs on the resource.
The issue with lining and faded slow markings, lets pick this up after the repairs, again this work is now carried by Sub-Contractor and are given lots of orders to price and arrange for renewal of lining.
I look forward to meeting you and walk round Chilton has this would be the first time.
Regards

Dear Sirs
I am the new Clerk at Chilton and Angela Macpherson kindly gave me your contact details in relation to the condition of the roads in Chilton.
We recently had some minor works undertaken for selected potholes but we are receiving a lot of complaints regarding the edges of the roads throughout Chilton. This combined with a significant amount of remaining potholes and a ridge in the road which is causing reverberations inside 2 houses, requires some closer inspection I feel.
Just prior to the small works being completed in Chilton earlier this month, I noticed whilst travelling through Dorton that they had a much higher percentage of repairs marked for their roads than Chilton did.
We have an extremely high volume of HGV’s continually travelling through the village
As there are no pavements in 80-90% of the village, this means that pedestrians are forced into the road and have to contend with the potholes and broken edges to the road whilst HGV’s weave their way through the village avoiding the road edges and potholes.
Do road signs fall under your remit as well? There is a need to renew the slow signs in Dorton Road approaching Brill Road near the Church. There is a very narrow part of the road by the Church which only allows single file travel, traffic approaches this section of road far too fast and as it is a blind bend with no pavement, risks to pedestrians is extremely high.
I would really appreciate an opportunity to tour the village with you and to highlight the issues we have here in Chilton
I look forward to hearing from you in due course
Regards
Stuart Misseldine
