THEFT – Lead removed from Churches

Please be aware of workers at the Church

We have received notice of a spate of lead thefts from the roofs of neighbouring churches.

Our picture shows the devastating impact of lead removal from a Church roof and apart from the damage caused by the theft, the structure is left vulnerable to the elements and more damage whilst repairs are being managed financially and practically.

Sent on behalf of the Archdeacon of Buckingham

To:  All Area Deans, Clergy, Lay Chairs, Churchwardens in the Aylesbury, Buckingham, Claydon and Mursley Deaneries

Dear Friends

Could I alert you to the sad news that we are once more experiencing a spate of lead thefts from church roofs around the area. Please, as previously, alert any watchful neighbours to the possibility.

Grass Cutting Report

The Clerk has reported the lack of grass cutting services throughout Chilton but in particular the junctions of both Chapel Lane and Princes Close with Thame Road where the height of the uncut grass is creating difficulty for motorists pulling out on to Thame Road

The report can be viewed here https://fixmystreet.buckscc.gov.uk/report/1628141

It would help for residents to submit their own reports to https://fixmystreet.buckscc.gov.uk/

Expressway Update on Dedicated WebPage

We have added a new page on the website with links and connections to the wider story about the potential of the Expressway coming right through the village.

We want to engage with everyone, whilst appreciating that homeowners are at most risk financially for any blight to the village, every resident is a stakeholder in sharing the beauty and benefits of this exclusive piece of Buckinghamshire.

The more support we can garner, the more information and knowledge of historic and environmental value we can assemble, the more people we can demonstrate who care about our environment, the stronger we will be in defence of our very special piece of England

So whether you are a temporary resident, tenant or homeowner, please take the time to find out all about this scheme and if you feel you can help with research or a simple donation however small or large, we would welcome your support

Donations can be made anonymously if required via our Just giving page – click here
