Pop up pub is returning to Chilton church

St Mary’s church is opening her doors again tomorrow Friday 8th July from 5.30-8.00pm

We’ve had a good turnout for the previous events, so whether or not you’ve been before please come along.

Bring the family, children (there will be games), dogs, neighbours, friends and work colleagues.

• Tea, coffee, wine, beer, snacks
• Children’s games in Chilton House garden
• Loos available at Chilton House
• Parking at the back of Chilton House
• Bring chairs and rugs if you want to sit outside but lots of space inside for chatting and playing

We are delighted to say that we have found a new Clerk to replace Bobs Damerell who is stepping down at the end of June.

Bobs Damerell is a professional Clerk based in Brill. He works with a number of other Parishes including Brill and Ludgershall, so will undoubtedly be able to hit the ground running!

The Parish Councillors are very much looking forward to working with Bobs, building on the great work Chilton PC has done in the last year.

The two latest speed warning sign reports for Chilton have been compiled by Nick Wasey from data downloaded from the speed sign.

The first is for the period Nov-Dec 2021 at the Brill Road location and the second is for the period Feb-Mar 2022, Dorton Road location.

The sign has now been moved back to the Thame Road and will stay there for the next 6-8 weeks.

Nick observes, “It’s interesting to compare the data from the two sites. As you might expect, there isn’t a speeding problem on the Brill Road because cars naturally slow down as they approach the blind crest leading up to the junction of the Dorton Road. 35% of cars were over the 30mph limit at this location with an 85% percentile speed of 33.4mph and an average of 27.47mph. Cyclists will also bring the average down as they pound up the hill! As you will see, by comparison the Dorton Road values are much higher.”

These reports are incredibly useful as we consider what other traffic calming measures we could implement here in Chilton. Thanks to Nick for compiling the reports and to Finn from Stable Cottage for helping move the speed sign between its various sites.

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that due to the resignation of Councillor Nicholas Barlow, a casual vacancy has arisen in the Office of a Parish Councillor for Chilton Parish Council, Grendon Underwood Ward.

If by 30^th May 2022 (within 14 days excluding Dies Non after the date of this notice) a request for an election to fill the vacancy is made in writing to the Returning Officer, Buckinghamshire Council, The Gateway, Gatehouse Road, Aylesbury, Bucks HP19 8FF or via email to ** by TEN electors for the Parish, or Parish ward (if warded), then an election will be held to fill the vacancy, otherwise the vacancy will be filled by co-option.
